Hoy le dedico mi humilde homenaje a la cantante británica "AMY WINEHOUSE" (14/9/1983 - 23/7/2011) que lamentablemente falleció hace 6 años con tan solo 27 años. En concreto he escogido su famoso y conocido tema "BACK TO BLACK".

AMY JADE WINEHOUSE tenía una poderosa y emotiva voz y en sus interpretaciones y composiciones mezcló varios estilos tales como el Jazz, R&B, Ska y fundamentalmente el Soul.

En el año 2003 lanzó al mercado su álbum "FRANK" (Titulado así por la admiración que la artista le tenía a "FRANK SINATRA"), con el que obtuvo buenas críticas y exitos. Pero en el año 2006 publicó el segundo y último álbum de estudio "BACK TO BLACK", disco con el que consiguió 6 nominaciones a los Premios Grammy, ganando 5, entre otros: Canción del año, grabación del año y mejor artista nuevo. En dicho álbum podemos destacar los singles: "BACK TO BLACK" y "REHAB". Después del fallecimiento de AMY las ventas se incrementaron considerablemente en todo el mundo, llegando a ser el álbum mas vendido en lo que va de siglo XXI en el Reino Unido con más de 20 millones de copias vendidas. En 2007 ganó el BRIT Award a mejor artísta británica y en el año 2012 AMY fue incluida en el número 26 del listado de las 100 mejores mujeres de la música para la cadena VH1, entre otros reconocimientos.

AMY se hizo muy popular además de por su poder de interpretación en el escenario por otras particularidades como su particular look, su peinado, su glamour, sus tatuajes y sus problemas con las drogas y el alcohol que le llevaron a adoptar conductas autodestructivas. Desgraciadamente la encontraron muerta en su apartamento el 23/7/11 después de sufrir un colapso pues según la autopsia su cuerpo contenía un elevado nivel de alcohol.

Unfortunately, she was found dead in her apartment on 7/23/11 after collapsing because according to her autopsy, her body contained a high level of alcohol.

18.- Vamos con el acompañamiento a la batería de la canción "sprock" "LEFT OUTSIDE ALONE" de la cantante norteamericana  conocida artísticamente como "ANASTACIA". 

Anastacia Lyn Newkirk nación en Chicago, Illinois el 17/9/68, su padre era cantante en clubs nocturnos y su madre bailarina en Broadway. Su padre sufría un transtorno bipolar y la abandonó siendo pequeña, criándose con su madre y sus hermanos. En el año 1998 se presentó a un concurso musical televisivo en Estados Unidos y pesé a que no lo ganó la catapultó hacia la fama. El propio Michael Jackson cuando la vio la llamó para felicitarla, animarla a que siguiera en el mundo de la música y le propuso que fichara por su sello discográfico en Sony. Al año siguiente debutó discográficamente con el álbum "Not That Kind" y no se equivocó Michael pues a día de hoy la artista ha conseguido vender más de 40 millones de discos en todo el mundo.

Anastacia posee una voz profunda, muy personal y se caracteriza por disponer de un timbre de voz nasal rasgado o roto con un amplio registro vocal y mucha fuerza. Se le ha comparado con la voz de Tina Turner, una voz muy estilo soul con influencias funk, rock y blues. De hecho se le conoce como "The Blonde Black" (la rubia con voz de negra). La propia cantante registró en el año 2004 su propio estilo musical como "SPROCK", es decir una mezcla entre Soul, Pop y Rock, por eso se le conoce como la "Reina del Sprock".

La canción "Left outside alone" fue escrita por Anastacia junto a Dallas Austin y Glenn Ballard; y cuenta la difícil relación de la cantante con su padre. El tema fue incluido en el tercer álbum de estudio de la artista con su mismo nombre "ANASTACIA", publicado en el año 2004 y también se publicó como disco sencillo, siendo un gran éxito tanto crítico como comercial, llegando a vender mas de 21 millones de copias en todo el mundo y alcanzando el primer puesto en Estados Unidos, Australia y en varios paises europeos como España, Italia, Austria y Suiza;  el segundo en Alemania, Dinamarca, Holanda y Noruega; y el tercero en Reino Unido y Hungría, entre otros. Además en los EEUU alcanzó el primer puesto en la "Hot Dance Single Sales" de las listas de baile.

SUPERSTITION - (STEVIE WONDER)

7.- Hoy va una versión a modo de ensayo con la batería (drum cover) del tema "SUPERSTITION" del músico, cantante, compositor, arreglista, productor discográfico y también activista social STEVIE WONDER, bueno, ese es su nombre artístico pues en realidad se llama Stevland Hardaway Morris. El trabajo de este genial músico nacido invidente en el año 1950 en Saginaw (Míchigan. EEUU) ha sido reconocido a lo largo de su carrera consiguiendo nada menos que 25 premios Grammy, muchos éxitos en ventas de discos, con mas de 100 millones de discos vendidos y habiendo sido incluido en el Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll. La prestigiosa revista Rolling Stone en su lista del año 2003 con los 500 discos mas grandes de toda la historia incluyó cuatro de Stevie Wonder y en el año 2008 fue considerado uno de los diez mejores cantantes de todos los tiempos.

Stevie Wonder desde niño ya destacaba con su peculiar voz cantando en el coro de su iglesia, pronto aprendió a tocar una gran variedad de instrumentos (piano, guitarra, bajo, batería, armónica, etc.) lo que le permitió llegar a grabar en algunos de sus discos todos los instrumentos, además de encargarse de la composición, arreglos y su producción. En cuanto a los géneros musicales que ha dominado, Stevie Wonder ha compuesto e interpretado temas de R&B, funk, soul y jazz principalmente.

En cuanto a la canción que hoy homenajeamos “Superstition”, la podríamos encuadrar entre el funk y el soul. Tal como nos dice su título, la letra nos habla de las supersticiones tales como “Cruzarse con un gato negro, siete años de mala suerte si rompes un espejo, el número 13, pasar por debajo de una escalera, etc.) viniendo a decirnos que la superstición no es el camino. El tema fue grabado con la participación del músico inglés Jeff Beck que colaboró con la guitarra, batería y caja de ritmos. Fue publicado dentro del álbum “Talking book” en el año 1972 por la compañía discográfica Motown Records llegando a convertirse en uno de los mayores éxitos de toda su carrera musical.
