Vamos hoy con una cover a la batería de la canción "IT'S MY LIFE" de la conocida banda de rock estadounidense "BON JOVI", la canción fue incluida en su séptimo álbum de estudio "CRUSH" grabado en el año 2000 llegando a ser un gran éxito de ventas y llegando al número uno de las listas de muchos países, siendo elegida como mejor canción rock en los "VH1 Awards 2000" y nominada como mejor canción rock en los premios "Grammy".
BON JOVI se formó en el año 1983 en Nueva Jersey por Jon Bon Jovi (Voz), estando actualmente en la banda Hugh McDonald (Bajo), David Bryan (Teclas), Tico Torres (Batería) y Phil X (Guitarra) que sustituyó a Richie Sambora en 2013 después de haber estado Richie 30 años en la banda. El grupo ha vendido más de 130 millones de discos, formando parte del Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll.

Bueno
pues ésta es ya la entrada número 50 de mi blog, cifra redonda, cuando empecé
nunca pensé llegar a tantas y que me fuera a dar tanto trabajo, jajaja, es broma, este blog lo hago por gusto así que mientras pueda seguir disfrutando tocando la batería y subiendo canciones, seguiré publicando. He
escogido para la ocasión la canción “DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT (IT’S CAUGHT
ME IN IT’S SPOTLIGHT)” de la banda irlandesa “THIN LIZZY”, es una
canción que me gusta y que toco con mis compañer@s del grupo “SMOKE SELLERS
BAND”. La canción formó parte de “BAD REPUTATION”, octavo álbum de estudio de
la banda, grabado en Toronto (Canadá), lanzado al mercado en el año 1977 y que
posteriormente se vendió como disco sencillo llegando al puesto número 14 en
ventas en el Reino Unido ese mismo año.
THIN
LIZZY se formó en 1969 en Dublín siendo los miembros fundadores Phil Lynott (Voz
y bajo) y Brian Downey (Batería) pero por la banda han pasado bastantes músicos
a lo largo de su trayectoria, entre ellos destacar al excepcional guitarrista
Gary Moore. Lynott fue realmente el líder de la banda y el compositor de la
mayoría de los temas además de ser el primer irlandés de color en conseguir un
gran éxito en el mundo musical, la desgracia es que falleció en el año 1986 con
tan solo 36 años. A partir de ahí entraron diversos músicos por la formación
pero nunca fue lo mismo. Destacar que la banda estaba incluida por músicos
multirraciales, católicos y protestantes dentro de una etapa en la que el
conflicto de Irlanda del Norte estaba en auge. En cuanto a su sonido, el grupo
podríamos etiquetarlo como banda de HARD ROCK, aunque recibe influencias
del ROCK PSICODÉLICO, del SOUL, del POP, del BLUES e incluso de la música CELTA
IRLANDESA; y de músicos como Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger y
Jeff Beck, entre otros.
Los
músicos que participaron en la grabación del álbum BAD REPUTATION fueron: Phil
Lynott (Voz, bajo y armónica); Brian Downey (Batería); Scott Grham (Guitarra),
Brian Robertson (Guitarra y teclados), John Helliwell (Saxofón y clarinete); y

Hoy le toca el turno a la canción posiblemente mas conocida de la banda californiana de Hard-Rock "GUNS N'ROSES", (Con la voz característica de Axl Rose y la inconfundible guitarra de Slash). Se trata de "SWEET CHILD O'MINE" (Que traducido sería algo así como "Mi dulce niña"). Curiosamente el grupo publicó el álbum "Appetite For Destruction" en julio de 1987 y en principio su llegada al mercado fue un desastre, lanzaron un primer single "It's So Easy", un segundo "Welcome To The Jungle" y tampoco funcionaron pero dicen que a la tercera va la vencida así que "SWEET CHILD O'MINE" fue lanzada como tercer single del álbum al mercado en agosto de 1988 consiguiendo catapultar a la banda a lo mas alto ya que llegó al número 1 de la lista Billboard Hot 100 en los EEUU, así como al número 6 de singles en el Reino Unido. De hecho actualmente el álbum "Appetite For Destruction" lleva vendidas mas de 35 millones de copias, ahí queda eso. Entre otros reconocimientos la canción llegó al número 37 de la lista de "Guitar World" de los "100 mejores solos de guitarra", así como el número 198 de las "500 mejores canciones de todos los tiempos" de la revista "Rolling Stone". En esencia "SWEET CHILD O'MINE" es una canción de amor de una banda de rock, para escribir la letra Axl Rose se basó en una poesía que estaba escribiendo a la que en ese momento era su novia Erin Everly, (Aunque después se casaron y finalmente aquello terminó como el rosario de la aurora). En el vídeoclip oficial aparece la banda ensayando en Huntington Park y salen todas las novias en ese momento de los integrantes de la banda, como curiosidad cuando estaban grabando la canción al escuchar la demo y buscando un final adecuado Axl se preguntaba "¿A donde vamos, adonde vamos ahora?" y finalmente se incorporó ese texto a la letra de la canción en la bajada antes de la subida final. También comentar que por razones comerciales, sobre todo para su emisión en programas de radio la canción se acortó y pasó de casi 6 minutos a 3:42 eliminando parte del conocido solo lento de guitarra de Slash, motivo que no gusto nada a la banda pero que facilitó llegar a un sector de la audiencia mas amplio, mas podríamos decir "Pop" no tan acostumbrado a largos solos de guitarra y por tanto a tener mucha mas repercusión mediática. En cuanto a la banda creo que no precisa demasiada presentación, decir que se formó en marzo de 1985 en la ciudad de Los Ángeles (California), que ha vendido más de 150 millones de discos con una repercusión a nivel mundial, que forma parte del "Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll" y que por ejemplo fue posicionada por la revista Rolling Stone en el número 21 de la lista de "Los 100 mejores artistas de la historia". En su formación original estaban 5 músicos de grupos diferentes, uno de ellos L.A. GUNS y otro era HOLLYWOOD ROSE, así que usando una combinación de ambos nombres bautizaron a la nueva banda como "GUNS N'ROSES". (William Bruce Bailey, más conocido por su nombre artístico como Axl Rose (Voz y teclados), Tracii Guns (Guitarrra solista), Izzy Stradlin (Guitarra rítmica y coros), Ole Beich (Bajo) y Rob Gardner (Batería). En cuanto a su formación actual, esta liderada por Axl Rose (Voz) y Slash (Guitarra solista), acompañados por Richard Fortus (Guitarra rítmica), Duff McKagan (Bajo), Melissa Reese y Dizzy Reed (Teclados) y Frank Ferrer (Batería).

"PARANOID" 17.- Llegó el otoño, octubre y vuelvo al blog con una nueva entrada, en esta ocasión dedicada a los grupos de hard-rock con sonido potente con origen en los años setenta. He elegido un tema sugerido por mi hermano, en concreto se trata de la versión original del tema "PARANOID" de la banda británica de rock duro "BLACK SABBATH", grupo que influyó notablemente para lo que posteriormente fue considerado como sonido "heavy metal". De este modo, en el año 2005 la banda fue incluida en el Salón de la Fama del Rock.
La banda fue formada en el año 1968 en Birmingham por Ozzy Osbourne (vocalista), Tony Lommi (guitarra), Beezer Butler (bajo) y Bill Ward (batería), aunque durante su existencia han pasado mas de 25 componentes diferentes, destacando entre otros a James Dio (vocalista de Raimbow) o Ian Gillan (vocalista de Deep Purple).
El álbum PARANOID fue el segundo de la banda y en principio iba a llamarse "War Pigs" por la canción con el mismo nombre que criticaba la guerra de Vietnam pero la Warner Bros cambió el título a "Paranoid" por temor a que hubieran represalias por parte de los partidarios del conflicto bélico. Finalmente el álbum consiguió 4 certificaciones de platino, llegando a vender mas de 75 millones de discos y la canción con el mismo título fue publicada como sencillo en septiembre de 1970 alcanzando el puesto número 4 en las listas británicas, número 1 en Alemania y el número 2 en los Paises Bajos, Suiza y Bélgica. La revista Rolling Stone colocó a esta canción en el puesto número 250 en su lista de las 500 mejores canciones. En la lista de VH1 la canción ocupó la posición número 34 en su lista de las 40 mejores canciones de heavy metal y puesto número 4 en la lista VH1 Greatest Hard Rock Songs en el año 2009. La revista Q colocó la canción en el puesto 11 de su lista de las 100 mejores canciones de guitarra. En el libro The Top 500 Heavy Metal Songs of All Time de Martin Popoff aparece como la mejor canción de heavy metal de todos los tiempos.
En cuanto a versiones podemos destacar las siguientes: Mötley Crüe, Type O Negative, Avenged Sevefold o el grupo de Thrash Metal Megadeth. También ha sido utilizada la canción en los juegos Guitar Hero III, Legends of Rock y Rock Band.

le dedico mi humilde homenaje al genio del rock británico David Robert Jones
conocido por su nombre artístico como "DAVID BOWIE" (que
desgraciadamente nos dejó este año (8/1/1947 - 10/1/2016) aunque siempre estará
con nosotros a través de sus canciones) realizando un drum cover del tema
"HEROES". Aprovecho la ocasión para darle las gracias a mi hermano mayor (José Vicente) por tener tan buen gusto, ya que gracias a los discos en vinilo que él compraba pude conocer siendo un adolescente a Bowie y otras bandas de hard rock de los 70 como Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Bad Company, etc.
Bowie fue
un adelantado a su época, muy innovador, con un estilo muy personal, rompiendo
muchos cánones establecidos y también muy polifacético (músico, cantante,
productor, arreglista y actor, entre otras facetas artísticas).
En el año 2002 la cadena de televisión BBC
realizó una encuesta de los100 británicos más importantes y colocó a Bowie en el
puesto número 29. Ha vendido unos 136 millones de discos a lo largo de su
carrera. Ha recibido 9 discos de platino,11 de oro y 8 de plata en el Reino
Unido y 5 de platino y 7 de oro en Estados Unidos. En 2004, la revista Rolling
Stone le posicionó en el puesto
número 39 de su lista de los cien artistas de rock más importantes de todos
los tiempos y en el puesto 23 de su lista de los mejores cantantes de todos los
tiempos.
El tema "HEROES" fue incluido en el álbum con el mismo nombre "HEROES" publicado en
1977 en el Reino Unido donde alcanzó el puesto número 24 del UK singles chart y
el número 8 en Irlanda, entre otros. La letra fue escrita entre Bowie y Brian
Eno.
La
canción ha sido versioneada y cantada en varios idiomas por muchísimos grupos
tales como: Peter Gabriel, The Wallflowers, Oasis, Blondie, Bon Jovi, King Crimson, The
Samshing Pumpkins e incluso el Dj David Guetta con el título "Just for One
