11.- Mi undécima entrada en el blog va dedicada al tema de rock duro (hard rock) "LOVE REMOVAL MACHINE" de la banda inglesa "THE CULT". La canción fue compuesta entre el vocalista del grupo Ian Astubury y el guitarra Billy Duffy. El tema fue incluido en su tercer albúm “ELECTRIC” publicado en febrero de 1987 y también salió al mercado como single. Este álbum consiguió buenas críticas y superar en ventas a su anterior trabajo “LOVE”. En el año 2013 fue remasterizado y lanzado al mercado como doble CD con el título “ELECTRIC PEACE” incluyendo grabaciones que no aparecieron el el disco original de 1987.

La cadena de televisión musical VH1 colocó a “LOVE REMOVAL MACHINE” en el número 74 en el ranking de las mejores canciones de rock duro de todos los tiempos.

En cuanto al sonido de la banda, "THE CULT" recoge influencias místicas de grupos como "The Doors" y las potentes guitarras de grupos como Led Zeppelin y AC/DC. Siendo los miembros que no han variado en el mismo el vocalista Ian Robert Astubury y el guitarrista William Henry "Billy" Duffy. Destacar que su cantante  Ian Astubury es además el vocalista del grupo de blues-rock "The Doors of the 21 st Century", integrado por antiguos componentes de la mítica banda "The Doors" en 2002.

10.- Hoy vamos con el tema "THE PAN WITHIN" en directo de la banda escocesa de folk-rock "THE WATERBOYS", formada en el año 1983 por su talentoso líder, vocalista y principal compositor Mike Scott. Con el grupo han colaborado desde sus inicios más de 30 músicos, la mayoría de ellos escoceses, ingléses e irlandeses. De todos ellos destacaría a Steve Wickham (extraordinario violinista que le dió al grupo con su incorporación en el año 1985 un toque mas folk), Kevin Wilkinson (batería y miembro original del grupo), Anthony Thistlethwaite (también miembro original que ha tocado varios instrumentos como el saxo, teclados, mandolinas y guitarras, entre otros), Richard Naiff (pianista y flautista), Roddy Lorimer (trompeta) y Martin Swain (bajo).

La canción “THE PAN WITHIN” fue publicada dentro de su tercer álbum “THIS IS THE SEA” en octubre de 1985, llegando a alcanzar el número 37 del Top de los EEUU.

9.- Hoy le dedico el ensayo con la batería (drum cover y también me he atrevido a acompañarlo con la voz, sí, un atrevimiento, ya lo sé pero me he divertido mucho) al tema "THE PRINCE & OLD LADY SHADE" del músico inglés "PETER MURPHY" (Peter John Joseph Murphy) publicado en el año 2011 en su álbum “NINTH”. Este álbum llegó a la posición número 38 en los Estados Unidos en la lista Billboard de álbumes independientes.

Peter Murphy, nacido en el año 1957 fue el vocalista en los años ochenta del grupo BAUHAUS con influencias de estilos entre el rock gótico, new wave, post-punk y rock alternativo; iniciando posteriormente su carrera en solitario.

8.- Aqui dejo un ensayo con la batería (drum cover) de la canción "LOSING MY RELIGION" del grupo de rock alternativo estadounidense R.E.M. Lanzada al mercado en el año 1991 como single y dentro del álbum “OUT OF TIME” del que llegaron a venderse 10 millones de copias. La canción obtuvo siete nominaciones a los premios Grammy, ganando dos de ellos, (mejor interpretación pop de grupo con vocalista y mejor video clip) consiguiendo alcanzar la cuarta posición en el Billboard Hot 100 en los EEUU, permaneciendo en la lista durante 21 semanas, en Inglaterra llegó al puesto 19 en la UK Singles Chart, en Canadá el puesto 16 y en Australia el 11. En el año 2004 la revista Rolling Stone la colocó en el puesto 169 dentro de su lista de las 500 mejores canciones de todos los tiempos y en 2009 Blender la colocó en la posición 79 de las Mejores canciones desde que naciste.

La voz del vocalista Michael Stipe se grabó en una sola toma y el estribillo surgió de la mano del guitarrista Peter Buck componiendo mientras practicaba con una mandolina comprada recientemente para aprender a tocarla.

El videoclip, inspirado en parte en un cuento de Gabriel García Marquez incluyendo un señor muy viejo con unas enormes alas estuvo nominado en 9 categorías en el año 1991 en los premios MTV, consiguiendo ganar 6 de ellos además de situarse en el primer puesto de la categoría de videos musicales en la encuesta de críticos Pazz & Jop del mismo año.

R.E.M. SUPERSTITION - (STEVIE WONDER)

7.- Hoy va una versión a modo de ensayo con la batería (drum cover) del tema "SUPERSTITION" del músico, cantante, compositor, arreglista, productor discográfico y también activista social STEVIE WONDER, bueno, ese es su nombre artístico pues en realidad se llama Stevland Hardaway Morris. El trabajo de este genial músico nacido invidente en el año 1950 en Saginaw (Míchigan. EEUU) ha sido reconocido a lo largo de su carrera consiguiendo nada menos que 25 premios Grammy, muchos éxitos en ventas de discos, con mas de 100 millones de discos vendidos y habiendo sido incluido en el Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll. La prestigiosa revista Rolling Stone en su lista del año 2003 con los 500 discos mas grandes de toda la historia incluyó cuatro de Stevie Wonder y en el año 2008 fue considerado uno de los diez mejores cantantes de todos los tiempos.

Stevie Wonder desde niño ya destacaba con su peculiar voz cantando en el coro de su iglesia, pronto aprendió a tocar una gran variedad de instrumentos (piano, guitarra, bajo, batería, armónica, etc.) lo que le permitió llegar a grabar en algunos de sus discos todos los instrumentos, además de encargarse de la composición, arreglos y su producción. En cuanto a los géneros musicales que ha dominado, Stevie Wonder ha compuesto e interpretado temas de R&B, funk, soul y jazz principalmente.
