Hoy le dedico el ensayo con la batería (drum cover) al tema "LA
GRANGE"
de la banda tejana de Houston de los simpáticos barbudos del hard
rock sureño estadounidense "ZZ
TOP"
publicado en el año 1973 como single e incluido en el álbum “TRES
HOMBRES”.
El
grupo está integrado por Billy Gibbons (guitarra y voz), Dusty Hill
(bajo) y Frank Beard (batería) y es de destacar que en toda su
carrera no ha sufrido cambios. En el año 2004 ZZ Top entró en el
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
La
letra de la canción se inspiró en un burdel emplazado en las
afueras de la ciudad La Grange en Texas (EEUU). En su lanzamiento el
tema llegó hasta el puesto 8 en los Billboard 200 en los EEUU,
consiguiendo su primer disco de oro en 1974, la revista Rolling Stone
la colocó en la posición 74 de la lista de 100 grandes canciones de
guitarra de todos los tiempos, también la revista “Q” la colocó
en el puesto 92 de las 100 mejores pistas de guitarra en el año
2005.
Ha
sido utilizada como banda sonora en películas, series y videojuegos;
y por supuesto ha sido versioneada por distintas bandas y músicos de
estilos variados como por ejemplo: Slash, Molotov, Richie Sambora, Phish, Tracy Byrd, Hank
Williams Jr., El Tri, Blues Traveler y Vinnie Moore, entre otros.
