"WISH YOU WERE HERE"

"WISH YOU WERE HERE"
23.- March 4, 2017. More than two months have passed since my last blog post and it is that until I got completely "up to date" with the musical adventures I am involved in, I had no intention of publishing on the blog but something has happened that has made me decide to steal time from time and make this humble post in memory of someone I could not meet personally but who since I saw him for the first time I was impressed by his strength, fortitude and positive energy. With all due respect, affection and admiration, we want to dedicate my colleagues and I from the group "THE PUNK BROTHERS" today's entry with a cover (incorporating reggae, ska and punk-rock sounds) of the song "WISH YOU WERE HERE" that means something as well as "I wish you were here" from the mythical symphonic rock group "PINK FLOYD" to PABLO RÁEZ, a young man from Malaga from Marbella who managed to significantly increase marrow donations thanks to his campaigns on social networks. Pablo, with only 20 years old, left us last Saturday, February 25, after fighting against a hard disease, leukemia. The testimony of his life for me is impressive and his lesson deserves to be known. I think that in the worst moments that he had to spend just reading the comments he published on Facebook and the statements he made, it is clear that he was not thinking only of him, nor exclusively of the people who could suffer from this or another serious illness but of each and every one of us. That is why I dare to publish part of his life message, as Pablo wrote "Death is not sad, the sad thing is that people do not know how to live", the following reflections that he published on his Facebook recently serve as an example:
"Let's enjoy each day that is unique, really, I begin to value things in an incredible way and truly that life tastes better like that. Love everything that is part of life, enjoy everything that is part of life You will not regret it. We continue on the road and full of strength. ""I have had a reflection that I would like to share with you.
We live in a way of life in which we work and earn money by time, that is, we live by and for time.
We live slaves to this system that is based on pure bureaucracy.
The planet is degenerating little by little, we are destroying it, we melt the poles, we produce without control, we provoke wars, we murder people and a long etcetera that make this world reach its end and we are producing all this for money.
We are not happy with what we have, we always want more.
Life must be based on the basics that are needed and live in a system that truly looks out for each person and takes care of this impressive planet full of beauty.
We have to be happier and really see what we are doing for and for the world, we have to begin to realize how important things really are and value what is truly important.
Let us give more love, first to oneself and then to the world.
Until you love yourself, you cannot love others.
Let's give more smiles, let's give more hugs, let's give more peace, let's give the best version of ourselves.
Let's give thanks to life for giving us the great luxury of being able to wake up every morning, let's be more grateful ".
Thanks for everything Pablo, if I get your message to reach just one person I will be satisfied, you have earned a corner in my heart, all my sincere support to his family and friends. From now on when I look at the sky at night one of the stars for me will be you, thank you for your legacy. Rest in peace!
As for the song "WISH YOU WERE HERE", it was released on the market in the self-titled album in 1975, (album positioned at number 209 on the list of the 500 best albums in history produced by Rolling Stone Magazine), although also in 1995 they reissued this time live the song of a concert they gave in Rome on September 20, 1994. At the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games Ed Sheeran with Richard Jones, Nick Mason, David Arnold and Mike Rutherford interpreted the song as a tribute and it was included in the soundtrack of the closing of these games.

Originally, in 1966 the band was called "The Pink Floyd Sound", a name that came from the combination of the names of two blues musicians (Pink Anderson and Floyd Council). "WISH YOU WERE HERE"
(PINK FLOYD)
So, so you think you can tell
heaven from hell,
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rail?
a smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
your heros for ghosts?
hot ashes for trees?
hot air for a cool breeze?
cold comfort for change?
did you exchange
a walk on part in the war
for a lead role in a cage?
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
from a cold steel rail?
a smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade
your heros for ghosts?
hot ashes for trees?
hot air for a cool breeze?
cold comfort for change?
did you exchange
a walk on part in the war
for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
the same old fears
wish you were here.
swimming in a fish bowl,
year after year,
running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
the same old fears
wish you were here.
