"DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT (IT'S CAUGHT ME IN IT'S SPOLIGHT"
50.- Día 15 de Agosto de 2020.
Bueno
He
escogido para la ocasión la canción “DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT (IT’S CAUGHT
Brian Robertson (Guitarra y teclados), John Helliwell (Saxofón y clarinete); y
Mary Hopkin-Visconti (Coros).

Well, this is already the
50th entry of my blog, round number, when I started I never thought I would
reach so many and that it would give me so much work, hahaha, just kidding, I
do this blog for fun so while I can continue to enjoy playing drums and
uploading songs, I'll keep posting. I have chosen for the occasion the song
"DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT (IT'S
CAUGHT ME IN IT'S SPOTLIGHT)" by the Irish band "THIN LIZZY", it is a song that I
like and that I play with my colleagues from the group "SMOKE SELLERS BAND
”. The song was part of “BAD REPUTATION”,
the band's eighth studio album, recorded in Toronto (Canada), released in 1977
and later sold as a single album, reaching number 14 in sales in the United
Kingdom. Joined that same year.
THIN LIZZY was formed in
1969 in Dublin with the founding members Phil Lynott (Voice and Bass) and Brian
Downey (Drums), but many musicians have passed through the band throughout its
trajectory, among them the exceptional guitarist Gary Moore. Lynott was really
the leader of the band and the composer of most of the songs, besides being the
first Irishman of color to achieve great success in the musical world, the
misfortune is that he passed away in 1986 with only 36 years . From then on,
various musicians entered the group but it was never the same. Note that the
band was included by multiracial musicians, Catholics and Protestants at a time
when the conflict in Northern Ireland was on the rise. Regarding its sound, the
group could be labeled as a HARD ROCK band, although it receives influences
from PSYCHODELIC ROCK, SOUL, POP, BLUES and even IRISH CELTIC music; and from
musicians such as Van Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger and Jeff
Beck, among others.
The musicians who
participated in the recording of the album BAD REPUTATION were: Phil Lynott
(Voice, bass and harmonica); Brian Downey (Drums); Scott Grham (Guitar), Brian
Robertson (Guitar and keyboards), John Helliwell (Saxophone and clarinet); and
Mary Hopkin-Visconti (Backing vocals).

LETRA:
When I passed you in the doorway well,
you
took me with a glance
I
should've took that last bus home
but
I asked you for a dance.
Now
we go steady to the pictures
I
always get chocolate stains on my pants
and
my father, he's going crazy
he
says I'm livin' in a trance.
But
I'm dancing in the moonlight
It's
caught me in its spotlight (It's alright, alright)
Dancing
in the moonlight
On
this long, hot summer night.
It's
three o'clock in the morning
and
I'm on the streets again
I
disobeyed another warning
I
should've been in by ten.
Now
I won't get out until Sunday
I'll
have to say I stayed with friends
Oh,
but it's a habit worth forming
if
it means to justify the end.
Dancing
in the moonlight
It's
caught me in its spotlight (It's alright, alright)
Dancing
in the moonlight
On
this long, hot summer night.
And
I'm walking home
the
last bus has long gone
but
I'm dancing in the moonlight
Dancing
in the moonlight
It's
caught me in its spotlight (It's alright, alright)
Dancing
in the moonlight
On this
long, hot summer night
Dancing
in the moonlight (I'm dancing in the moonlight)
It's
caught me in its spotlight (it's caught me in in it's spotlight)
Dancing
in the moonlight (dancing in the moonlight)
On
this long, hot summer night (it's got me hot)
Dancing
in the moonlight (I'm dancing in the moonlight)
It's
caught me in its spotlight (it's caught me alright) (it's alright, alright)
Dancing
in the moonlight (alright, alright, alright, alright)
On
this long, hot summer night (got so goddamn hot)
Dancing
in the moonlight (I'm dancing)
It's
caught me in its spotlight (I'm still dancing)
Dancing
in the moonlight (I'm dancing in the moonlight)
On
this long, hot summer night.
